CrossLoop Remote Access Software - Networking Computer Tips

CrossLoop is free software that simplifies the process of securely working with friends located in different physical locations and across different network environments. CrossLoop enables you to see the screen and control the mouse and keyboard on a remote computer over the internet as if you were sitting at the remote computer itself. It’s similar to other software such as Remote Desktop, Terminal Services and pcAnywhere

If you have never used CrossLoop before, you will be asked to login or create an account when you start the application.

If you already have a CrossLoop account, click on Login. If you don’t have a CrossLoop account, click on Create Account to create one. If you don’t want to login or create an account, you can click on the cancel button at the top right of this window. This will not close the application and you will be taken directly to the screen sharing controls. To login in to the CrossLoop Software application, enter your email address and password in the login screen that you registered with.

If you are going to be the one sharing your computer with another person then you would click on the Share tab and give the other person your Access Code.

Then this person would enter your code into the Access Code box under the Access tab on their computer.

After you put in the code you will get an invitation to have the other user access your computer and take control of it. Then the other person can use your computer as if they were sitting at it. It is recommended that you have a high speed internet connection to effectively use this service for the best results.

Some firewall software may see CrossLoop as a threat and try to block it so make sure you don’t have your settings too secure if you want to be able to share your computer using CrossLoop. This applies to Vista’s User Access Control security settings.

CrooLoop requires Windows 2000 or later. It can be downloaded from their website.
